Transfer to Google Voice did not work

A recent call resulted in an attempt to transfer to my Google Voice number (which ordinarily rings my cell). Instead of my cell ringing, there was an apparent prompt by Google Voice to "state your name" before initiating a transfer, in an apparent attempt to process a warm transfer. Ordinarily, when I call my Google Voice line directly, it either rings until the line is picked up, or it goes to voice mail.
Is there something that I need to do to allow transfers to this number without it prompting for a name first? (I may have selected a "warm transfer" option in Smith.ai, but I was under the impression that the call would be announced to me AFTER I picked up the incoming call to Google Voice, but that is not what happened. Instead, a name was requested by Google Voice before my phone ever rang. If I need to deselect the warm transfer option for Google Voice numbers, please advise.)
